What is Laybac Clothing?
Laybac Clothing was founded on the wild west coast of Norway, where the mountains, fjords, and North Sea meet. Our surroundings are both stunning and unforgiving, shaping a mindset that clothing should not only look good but also provide warmth, durability, and lasting quality.
We design unisex, oversized pieces in thick cotton and durable fabrics, bridging the gap between streetwear and outdoor gear. Rooted in surf and skate culture, yet inspired by Scandinavian nature, Laybac is built for those who move freely between city streets and rugged landscapes.
As a brand, we believe in fewer, better products — clothing that lasts, avoids fast-fashion cycles, and reflects our respect for the environment. Whether you’re skating through the city, hiking the mountains, or taking it slow by the coast, Laybac is made to keep you comfortable, connected, and ready for whatever comes next.
The Team
We’re a family of surfers, skaters, and outdoor enthusiasts based in Bergen, Norway. Inspired by our love for coldwater surf, the Nordic skate scene, and the rugged Norwegian coast, we started Laybac to create clothing that blends function, durability, and style. Every piece reflects our passion for adventure, our commitment to quality, and our desire to make gear that works as hard in the city as it does in the wild. Together, we design, test, and share clothing built for people who live life on their own terms.
Mission Statement
We aim to create sustainable, responsible clothing for anyone who sees the beauty in the places less traveled. We pledge to donate three percent of sales through the Land, Sea and Community initiative. This will allow our community to choose where to direct this donation, by helping to grow forests, cleaning up the ocean or supporting struggling communites.
Dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint, we continuously make efforts to improve our operations to protect our planet.
